Hypertension Monitoring Could Save Your Life

During my High Blood Pressure Treatment, Hypertension Monitoring was indispensable - In fact, it was like being in Intensive Care.

But the regular checking of my blood pressure after a few months, became a joyful and interesting routine.

My environment and activities just before and during the monitoring Sessions were of the utmost importance because -

the sensitivity of both blood pressure and pulse rate is critical and their readings were definitely affected.

Things to be aware of before and during a Session:

All Of The Following Will Affect Blood Pressure and Pulse Rate:

  1. Eating, Drinking Alcohol, Smoking, Exercising, or Bathing 30 minutes before your Sessions.
  2. Low or high room temperature.
  3. Looking at scenes that disturb or excite.
  4. Loud Sounds.
  5. Reading serious material.
  6. Thinking unpleasant thoughts.
  7. Taxing the mind - fear and anxiety.
  8. Incorrect posture.
  9. Irregular breathing.
  10. Movements and discomfort of the body.
The Monitoring Process taught me the importance of the frequency of taking both my blood pressure and pulse rate - because they are constantly changing.

The scheduling of my Sessions would change from time to time -

Three Sessions daily:

  • Six readings at each Session -
  • Three readings with a cuff Omron Monitor and one reading each with the other Monitors -
  • Five minutes between readings -

  • Used four different Monitors - 2 cuffs and 2 wrists.

I was able to compare the measurements - cuff vs wrist.
